Two, odd-ball DJs search for a prized hop-hop record titled, “Kool Herc’s Breakbeat,” the record known to be real life catalyst for the hip-hop movement. On the record, Herc mixed back and forth between the two copies of the identical records to indefinitely extend the “break,” and in doing so, he introduced the turntable as a musical instrument in and of itself and gave rise to the hip-hop DJ.
