Set at a Southern Army training camp in the early 1970s, the story follows a discharge-seeking young recruit whose superiors view his rebelliousness as leadership potential. Seeking to avoid a trip to Vietnam, the recruit embarks on a campaign to get every other draftee in his company ejected from the army.
