Set in Baltimore in 1959, a reclusive neighbor helps a 13-year-old boy fit in with the other kids. A central motif is a derelict radio tower, which the kids want to climb before it’s demolished. The boy’s friendship with the neighbor becomes a tutorial as he waits for his turn to perform the rite of passage.
